Ozone Therapy Side Effects
Numerous clinical investigations have confirmed that ozone therapy if properly indicated, dosed, performed etc. is well-tolerated by patients and will not cause any side effects to human body.
“In a 1980 study done by the German Medical Society for Ozone Therapy, 644 therapists were polled regarding their 384,775 patients, comprising a total of 5,579,238 ozone treatments administered. There were only 40 cases of side effects noted out of this number which represents the incredibly low rate of .000007%, and only four fatalities. Ozone has thus proven to be the safest medical therapy ever devised.” Considering that about 100,000 Americans a year die from drug reactions and interactions, ozone therapy is amazingly safe.”
Medical ozone is completely safe and non-toxic to humans when generated by proper non-contaminating equipment and administered with proper protocols. It has been shown to be completely safe even when a dosage many times greater than the proposed human dosage is administered. The therapeutic use of ozone has an excellent safety record and no toxic effects have been observed from clinical use. The use of ozone as a healing adjunct is well established and is being vigorously pursued by many scientists and clinicians. The benefits are predictable and without side effects. Ozone treatment is safe because healthy cells are surrounded by an enzyme coating, which ozone does not penetrate. Bacteria and viruses have no such coatings and are oxidized on contact by ozone. Ozone also promotes the production of glutathione peroxidase, catalase, reductase and super-oxide dismutase which are the enzymes forming the cell wall coating and therefore cellular immunity is enhanced.
When it is incorporated into a holistic approach of cleansing there is virtually no known side effect of ozone treatment if it is applied properly. However, since ozone therapy is dose-dependent, it should be administered with supervision. It has been proven that even direct delivery of ozone into the blood vessels has very low risk factors. No air which contains nitrogen ever enters the body, so an air embolus cannot occur. Ozone must not be inhaled. Accidental inhalation during treatment may lead to minor symptoms like burning of eyes, coughing, nausea or vomiting, or mild headache in very sensitive individual. Giving Vitamin C or lime water will cure most symptoms. Rectal Ozone may rarely give mild discomfort, feeling of passing gas, gurgling, or mild cramps. It is all temporary and passes quickly. Sometime due to detoxification, patient’s condition may seem to worsen but it most certainly improves on continuation of therapy. (This is NOT a side effect.)
As Dr. Eliezer Ben-Joseph says “Ozone actually deactivates every known negative compound known that exists in the world.” “What the ozone does,” he continues “it will clean out chemicals that are in your lungs when you breathe it. It does cause an irritation so the doctors suggests not breathing ozone.”
